The Infamous Bloggers Meet!!

I had so much fun on Saturday...I keep thinking about it!!!!

The 'Infamour Bloggers Meet' was a mega huge success!! 9 gals who were only know to each other thru their individuals blogs, mingled together as if they had known each other for many many years!!!! The chemistry among us was awesome!! Who would have believed that we could get along so well!!!

As usual, before we were meeting, I was like.......will we be able to talk to each other, can we get along, will the conversation be flowing..but every doubt was cleared!

Courtesy of Sumi! Thanks babe!

I really had a very good time! Eating, gossiping, bitching and of course checking out a super cute Jap looking Malay waiter at Swensen's...boy...he was cute. And some of them were saying that he was checking me out. Highly not but if it was true, then I can officially declare myself as attractive to cute Malay guys....wow....So from now on, if I ever feel like eating Swensen's, it will be at Swensen's Causeway Point....hahahahaha!!

As per Sumi's advice who has super self-photographic skills, I tried to take a pic with my chin up and see how terrible I look.....

Eeeeeeee!

This has to go on....we have to meet up more often!! Ok! :)

PS: I think I opened my trap too much...hehe....hope you gals didn't mind!

Reminising The Past..

I have nothing much to blog but i feel like blogging so here's something for you people to read.....

Those who were born in the late 70s and early 80s would be able to relate to this:

~Our Childhood~

1. We grew up watching He-man, MASK,Transformers, Silver hawk and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget, Ninja turtles, My Little Pony and Smurfs too.

2. We grew up brushing our teeth with a mug in Primary school during recess time. We would squat by a drain with all our classmates beside us, and brush our teeth with a coloured mug. The teachers said we must brush each side 10 times too.

3. We know what SBC stands for.

4. We paid 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in class.

5. We watched a very popular Malay dubbed Japanese drama on RTM1 about schoolgirls who possess powerful skills in volleyball called Meoro Attack.

6. We find our friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary school.

7. SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats are made of wood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEEP! when pressed. There are colourful tickets forTIBS buses. The conductor will check for tickets by using a machine which punches a hole in the ticket.

8. Envelopes given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day.

9. We probably would have read Young Generation magazine. We know who's Vinny the
little vampire and Acai the constable.

10. We were there when they first introduced MRT here. We went for the first ride with your parents and would kneel on the seat to see the scenery.

11. Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50.

12. Gals are fascinated by Strawberry Short Cake and Barbie Dolls.

13. We learned to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street.

14. We longed to buy tibits called Kaka(20 cents per pack),and Ding Dang(50 cents per box), that had a toy in it and it changes every week not forgetting the 15 cents animal crackers and the ring pop, where the lollipop is the diamond on the ring.

15. We watched TV2(also known as Channel 10) cartoons because Channel 5
never had enough cartoons for you.

16. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five and Secret Seven are probably the thickest story books we ever thought we have read. Even Sweet Valley High and Malory Towers.

17. KFC used to be a high class restaurant that serve food in plates and let us use metal forks and knives.

18. The most vulgar thing we ever said was asshole and idiot.

19. Catching was the IN thing and twist as the magic word.

20. English workbooks was made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow.

21. CDIS were our bestfriend.

22. The only computer lessons in school involved funny pixellised characters in 16 colours walking about trying to teach us maths.

23. Waterbottles were slinged around our neck and a must everywhere you go.

24. Boys loved to play soccer with small plastic balls in the basketball court.

25. Teng-teng, batu lesung, chapteh, hentam bola and zero point were all the rage with the girls and boys too...

26. Science was fun with the balsam and the angsana being the most important
plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most important fish.

27. Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei and John, eternalized in our minds from the textbooks. Even Mr Wally & Mr. Yakki. What abt Miss Lala??? And Zaki and Tini in Malay Textbooks?

28. We carry out experiments of our own to get ourself badges for being a Young Zoologist/Botanist etc.

29. Every Children's day and National day we either get pins or pens with 'Happy Children's Day 1993' or dumbfiles with Happy National Day1994'.

30. In Primary six we had to play buddy for the younger kids like big sister and brother.

31. We wear BM2000, BATA, or Pallas shoes.

32. Our form teacher taught us maths, science and english.

33. The worksheets were made of brown rough paper of poor quality.

34. We went to school in slippers and a raincoat when it rained, and we would find a dry spot in the school to sit down, dry our feet, and wear our dry socks and shoes.

35. School dismissal time was normally around 1 pm.

36. There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost everyday.

37. It was considered lucky and rich if our parents gave you $3 or more for pocket money everyday.

38. We saw Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall.

39. We freak out when the teacher tells us to line up according to height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl.

40. Boys like to catch fighting spiders.

41. Collecting and battling erasers was a pastime for boys and some girls too.

42. Autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not", and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch.Friend like you, hard to forget".

43. Class monitors and prefects loved to say "You talk somemore, I write your name ah!"

44. There were at least 40 people in one class.

45. Large, colourful schoolbags were carried.

50. We brought every single book to school, even though there was one thing called the timetable and we didn't have lockers.

Did it bring back any memories???

I'm a Cartoon person. Just love cartoons. Tell me what nothing but cartoons on TV for one whole day, I'll be most delighted. But nowadays they are not showing the Classic cartoons much..like...Tom and Jerry Show, Wild Cats, Care Bears....so on....I really miss those cartoons....

The Thought of Separation....

I can't sleep so I decided to blog.....guess it will be good to write it down then ponder about it.

Yesterday my father came back early from work and actually wanted to mop the house. But he couldn't because of the heavy rain. If you are wondering what's the connection...well...when my dad mops the house, almost 3/4 of the stuff in the house moves out, thanks to the big space we have outside our house. But due to the heavy rain, we know for sure that these stuff might get wet.

While I was sweeping the house, this conversation came up:

Dad: When is Kumar's parents coming down? (Which means "When are u getting married?")
Me: Huh..ard end of the year..(Kumar's parents don't even know about us. How would the hell I know when they are coming down!!)
Dad: Then when you getting engaged?
Me: This year engage....
Dad: Then ROM?
Me: Next year...(Me saying these stuff as if they are gonna happen...)
Dad: Then when you get married? The year after that is it....I want to sell the house!!
Me: Oh, so u want me to get married and go away faster ah!! Daddy ah, after I go, nobody will do anything for you ok....You talk like ah...

It hit me really bad.My father had never said anything like this to me before. My relationship with my mum is very bad so I always hear this from her and it doesn't bother me at all. But not from my dad. I was kinda very sad after hearing that. I didn't really expect my father to say something like tat. I don't really wanna leave my dad now. There's nobody to take care of him. Nobody to heat up his food or make tea or coffee or fry anything for him...... Most girls are sad coz they have to leave their mums but in my case, its a bit different. I'm sad to leave my dad...maybe its because he has nobody here besides me.....Sometimes I really get jealous when daughters are friendly with their mums coz its hurts that I'm not......

In the evening,I was on the train going to meet Kumar when my ex-maid called me. I couldn't control myself and cried to her. After we hung up, a few minutes later, my dad called and told me that he was not serious when he said that and me staying in the house is not a burden to him. He also said that i'll always be his daughter no matter what and he's just afraid that Kumar might not marry me and tat's why he wants us to get ROM fast.....

What he said really means a lot to me....This is the first time my father's saying all these to me....they really mean a lot.....I'm not really in the mood to get married. The thought of not being there for my family really makes me wonder whether I should get married. I'm the eldest child and my brother is 9 years younger than me. I can't trust this family into his hands...Sometimes its really sad that a woman has to leave her house and family when she gets married. I guess hope that my dad sells this house when I''m around so that I can help him. I don't know la..I feel sad thinking about these things..

If you ask me truely, I don't wanna get married.....then Kumar........I don't know.....

Why am I in such a foul mood??

.......Another day of draggin myself to work. I just can't seem to wake up nowadays. Tell me who to blame....no late nights...no stress....been sleeping like a pig...but I still have so much difficulty waking up in the morning......

On Tuesday I went saree shopping at Tekka with Minah. I realised that when you buy a saree, you should always look at it under white light and not yellow light. There was this red and black saree at Haniffa's. It looked so nice that I wanted to get it but I didn't get it coz I'm in no need for one now and so Minah bought it. Then we went to a accessory shop nearby to get the necessary and when we looked at it again, it didn't look as appealing as it was at Haniffa's. Heng i tot, lucky I didn't waste my money. I feel like going saree shopping too.....but I can't...I have about 4-5 sarees that I haven't even worn yet......shit!

Yesterday I went to Kumar's place. My darling boyfriend didn't have the time to clean his house and so he asked me for help. Me being the wonderful girlfriend, went to his house after work and cleaned the house for him. When I opened the fridge, guess what I saw.......his birthday cake...the blady tasty chocolate cake. It was still there...and so I finished it off!!! Do u believe it.....there was 3/4 cake left and I just finished it off while watching TV in half an hour.....wow.....I'm so proud of myself!!!! I want more of that cake.....whose birthday's next??

I better get back to work....there's so much to do and i'm not in the mood.....great!!!!!

Is Being Fat Ugly?

Recently, the TAF programmes being conducted at schools have been one of those hot topics in the papers. Today there was this article that a girl who was the only one in the class to be part of the TAF club, lost weight by vomitting out whatever she ate. She did this basically because she was ashamed to be part of the TAF club and she felt like an outcase. After reading that, I was flipping the pages and I saw this slimming ad with a slim Irene Ang's picture on it. She is PCK's wife in case you are wondering who she is.

So is being thin really beautiful? Are fat or plus-sized girls ugly then?

There are many plus-sized girls who think that being slim is beauty and they always try means and ways to slim down and look like those models. Some resort to dangerous ways to lose those fats which they can't get rid of by dieting for eg. vomitting and intense gyming. To all my friends out there who think like that, please don't. Remember you are pretty the way you are. Being big is not wrong and you are not considered as an outcast.

Diana Ser once did an episode on this in 'Get Real' and in the end, it was mentioned that our society doesn't shun overweight people. Its just overweight people think it that way. But then, do you think our celebrities posing for these slimming ads is an influence? I remember that Olivia (from Singapore Idol) also did go for slimming. If you ask me honestly, i think she looked better before that. I liked Irene Ang the way she was.

Let's look on the Indian movie side. Don't you think Jothika looks terrible after slimming? I think she looked better when she was more rounder. Now she looks old. Sometimes looking slim doesn't make you look better.

I'll let you on a secret. I used to be in the TAF club when I was 16. Then when I was on ITE during one of the June holidays, i only ate snacks and lost 4 kg in a month. Since then, I have not been able to put on weight. And now its even worse. I'm all bones. My clothes look big on me. I hate to wear tight-fitting clothes coz it makes me look skinny. I'm in a terrible dilemma. I'm even thinking of seeking medical help for this. I can't go one like.Whenever I visit a doctor, they ask me if I'm aneroxic. Its stressful, I tell you...

Its important to like yrself. Be confident of who you are. Never let your weight control your life.

Is this what really happens after marriage.......

I was so bored yesterday nite that I ended up watching the dumb 'Pradhana Vizha'. I went to JB yesterday and only came back in the late evening. So I didn't go to Ang Mo Kio. My lovely boyfriend told me that he will going home straight after playing soccer as he had to work today.

So I cleaned my room. Arranged my bangles in the new bangles organiser that I bought at JB and surfed the net for while. After that I was bored to death. I didn't know what to do and so I ended up watching that dumb show. A waste of my time. Last year there were 4 hosts and this year 5. Soon you are gonna see 10 hosts hosting this show. I won't be surprised. And as usual, the dances and songs were terrible. The hosts were over-reacting at some point. Some of the winners were un-deserving. Aiyah....the awards show is just going down the drain. But one of the lady hosts was good. The one with long hair. I liked the way she talked.

Ok, I'm gonna sleep now! (Do I have to work tomorrow? I wanna sleep longer!!)

Kumar's birthday is on the 13th and it happens to fall on a Friday...

Friday the 13th....when I was younger, I used to be so scared of this day, I would pray extra hard, try to make sure nothing goes wrong and be careful in whatever I do...now its just another day...hehe..

Its Kumar's birthday today! The pig turns 24!!! :)

We had a simple celebration. We had diner, watched 'Chandramukhi' and cut a cake at his place. The cake was so delicious!!

Kumar wore the shirt I bought and he looked great. Wow, I'm damn blady good at dressing up my man...Good Job Kethrine...This is actually his second gift. His first one was the bike. I paid half the deposit. Aren't I a good girlfriend.....

Anyway Chandramukhi was great! Being an ardent fan of Rajini, its really disappointing that I had to watch that movie almost a month later. Shit, all thanks to that asshole...oops his birthday cannnot scold him...ok ok take back take back....I must make sure he brings me to watch Anniyan within 1 week of its release. I saw the trailer just now and its great!!!

Ok, I better get back to sleep now...late already...

Happy Birthday Darling! Muack!!

Oh Sayang Aku....Oh P.Ramlee

I met an old Malay star today, veteran actress who has acted with P.Ramlee in many movies. And she is non-other than......Nina's grandmother! Wow! Today when I went tuition, they were watching this black-and-white movie starring P.Ramlee and when there was this certain scene, Nina's younger brother, Ekka told me that this was his grandmother. I thought it must have been his great granny but it wasn't. It seems Nina's granny started acting with P.Ramlee at 18 and has acted with him in many flicks in supporting roles. Wow! I think I should get her autograph now of these days....hehe....a bit too much rite....hehehe....

Anyway here's a priceless drawing by a budding artist. Its a picture of one of the world's most beautiful woman, a woman who's an inspiration for many......

A masterpiece drawing by Zelinna Da Vinci-'Miss Kethrine'

Ok ok .....stop throwing tomatoes.....hehehe, Nina's younger sister, Ina drew this for me. This is supposed to be me.....Cute rite....

I watched 'xXx2' yesterday-not that fantastic. Stunts are good but then I can't see Ice Cube as 'xXx'-Vin Diesel was better.

Monday is over and tomorrow is only Tuesday...oh brother......

With respects to a suggestion by Sis Letchu, I have created a new album with pics of me and my baby called 'Kumar and Kethrine'.....check it out......

Thai Food Totally Rocks!

I'm beginning to love Thai food so much now!!! Yesterday, our new AD(Assistant Director), Bobby brought me, Mrs Goh and Serene out for lunch, just to mix around with us. At first we decided on Swenson's but when we went to Great World City, there wasn't any there and so Bobby suggested Siam Kitchen.

Wow, the food was simply great. It was so spicy and tasty, I just couldn't stop myself from eating. We had a big groupa, prawn curry, sambal kangkong, chicken.....mmmmmh........and desert was mango slices with pulut rice......heavenly it was.....The taste is still lingering in me. I was so bloated that I didn't have dinner. Bobby is so nice to foot the bill. I'm gonna buy him coffee one of these days.

OK, see ya! I'm heading to Ang Mo Kio now....bye!!!

Stop Sucking our Blood!!

I just don't get it!!! What are these people thinking!!!!!!!!!! Aren't we suffering enough!!!!!!! Aaargghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SMRT proposes to hike fares....bad enough and now SBS Transit also wants to hike its prices and then its seems the cabby companies will be next in line!!! Oh my goodness!!!! Do they know how much money Singaporeans spend on public transport???

Many Singaporeans rely on public transport to travel around Singapore. And its prices have been going up like nobody's business....I won't say that our transportation system is bad but its not very good either....

Going to work and coming back home from work is hell!!!! All those who take public transport to work would share the same sentiments as me! Do u agree! We are already giving more than we should to transport you know and now we are very unsure whether we have to pay more in the future...even a 1 or 2 cents raise is a lot you know......Singapore is getting more and more shittier to live in!!

Anyway on a happier note, Clara's gonna get ROM in November. Isn't that great!!!! I'm so happy for her. She has already a flat and she will be getting hitched in June next year !!!!

I'm Starry Eyed....ogling at my hunky Vikram! *-*

Coming to work after a long holiday is torture!! It was just sooo difficult to wake up this morning!! They should ban long holidays!!!!!

I had a wonderful holiday! I ate, slept and watched TV.....super relaxing holiday! Actually today should have been a public holiday...with Wee Kim Wee dead.....shit! Its not that I'm not being compassionate but then another public holiday would be nice rite.....don't you agree...those office-goers! Stand up with me!!!! Let's go on strike!!!!!

Ok ok, you can sit down now.....Singapore high security.....difficult to strike.....hehehe!

I've got this sudden craving for Coke! Been drinking too much of it.....I cut down my Coke intake long time ago already and now I'm going on a Coke overload.....Man, this is bad, very bad! Maybe I should blame the weather...it being so hot.....or maybe...I should blame my darling's advertisement!!! Hehehe....know who I am talking about....who else but the juicy Vikram!!! I finally managed to catch his ad on Sun TV. Do you know how many mega serials and dumb programmes I had to sit through to watch it.....it was torture but worthwhile........Vikram looks so hunky, gorgeous, handsome, cute........My hero!!!

*Wipes drool*.....Anniyan is coming out this month and I just can't wait for the movie.....I'm don't care what Kumar will do...I'm gonna catch that movie by all means...Kumar just hates Vikram, thanks to me!!!!! ;)

Ok, Kethrine u r in the office...control yourself.....Back on the ground.....

Its horribly disturbing when a loved one lies to you or hides something from you right, then why do they do it? Do they like it when someone does it to them? Why.....

I better get back to work. I have a whole lot of FAQs to type. I think I'm gonna lose my fingerprints typing....
